Job Description:  Finance Manager

We are looking for a Finance Manager that wants to do more than just add up numbers and prepare fapiaos (but that is part of the job as well!)  This job is based in Tianjin, China.

What you’ll be doing:

The basics like bookkeeping and accounting, maybe even a little HR related work, but also working with the managers on overall business strategy.  The business is focused on the commercial real estate industry and initially will have an extra focus on retail specifically foreign F&B brands.

We are looking for candidates who:

Have the basic qualifications around accounting and can handle themselves when dealing with the tax authorities, but also want to think more deeply about what the numbers tell us about the business.  Knowing how to read the numbers is necessary, but knowing how to use the numbers to justify a decision or a strategy is more important.  This probably means you’ve worked for an accounting firm or in the accounting department of a WFOE for 3-5 years, but you might have also gained these skills from some other experience.  Experience working with franchises is also helpful.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all operational accounting activities including accounts payable, expense reporting, billing/accounts receivable. Ensure timely invoicing and collection with close cooperation with other business units.

  • Ensure adequate accounting policies and internal control procedures are implemented.

  • Provide advice and business insight to management. Finance information must have the attributes of accuracy, conciseness, clarity and simplicity.

  • Liaise with tax authority for tax calculation, reports and other tax compliance matters.

  • Work with HR team for accurate handling of staff related expenses and social insurance costs.

What you get:

It’s a new business, so a busy schedule, but beyond that a chance to help build a new company and work with a leader that wants to see staff improve their overall skill sets and spend their time in a fun and healthy work environment.  Of course, we also pay a decent salary and the statutory benefits.

Who we are:

You can read a bit more about us on our website www.griffinbiz.com, but the short answer is Griffin is a wholly-owned foreign company located in Tianjin, China and looking to help businesses make sense of their real estate needs.
